Anthony Joshua's Former Coach Hopes Oleksandr Usyk "Puts a Beating" on Fury
Anthony Joshua's ex-trainer has spoken out against Tyson Fury's recent boxing performance, claiming that he "disrespected boxing." In an interview with Boxing Social, Robert Garcia expressed his hope that Oleksandr Usyk, Fury's upcoming opponent, will teach him a lesson in the ring. Garcia criticized Fury's lackluster performance in his crossover fight against Francis Ngannou and argued that Fury took the match too lightly and didn't properly train for it. However, Garcia acknowledged that if Fury is in shape, he can be a formidable opponent for Usyk.
Sparring Partner Agrees: Fury Was Not Focused
Martin Bakole, a sparring partner who trained with Fury in the past, echoed Garcia's sentiments. Bakole stated that Fury's mindset was affected by the signed contract with Usyk during his fight with Ngannou. He claimed that Fury was not 100% focused in the gym and that his training routine was significantly different from what Bakole had witnessed in the past. Bakole emphasized that this was not the Fury he knew from previous matches against Klitschko, Chisora, and Dillian Whyte.
