He will not gain weight by eating meat, as he explained his nutritional switch before his return to boxing.
ESPN quoted Canelo as saying: "I am not very complicated when referring to food, I adapt a lot and I adapt quickly.
"It wasn't something I did suddenly, that I forgot what I had eaten before, from one to the next.
"I try to eat vegan food every week, but if I do eat meat, chicken or any other animal, it is okay.

"But I try to eat vegan every week. My body has adapted well and I feel amazing.
"I feel strong, and my stomach is very healthy. It is something I would recommend.
Canelo, 31 years old, was infamously positive for clenbuterol in 2018. This drug is well-known to increase muscle growth and reduce excess fat.
Although the boxing champion claimed that the failed test was due to contaminated beef, he was still suspended for six months.
