If he wants it that way, the unprecedented activity within the ring can continue.

Canelo stated that if I can fight three, four or five times per year, I would be happy.

This is what I love because it's what I do. I am always at the gym and always ready to fight. It's great for me."

Canelo's remarks follow wins over Callum Smith (31), AvniYildirim (30), and Billy Joe Saunders (31). These are just a few of the many victories Canelo has achieved on his path to super-middleweight supremacy.

After terminating his promotional agreement with Golden Boy Sports and DAZN, all three were free agents.

Instead, he teamed up with Eddie Hearn, a promoter, on a temporary basis. Hearn is still on DAZN.

Hearn will continue to represent Canelo (31), going forward but to fight Plant (29). This had to happen with Premier Boxing Champions, Showtime.

Alvarez's ability jump from TV platforms or boxing promoters allows him to control his career.

It allows Canelo avoid boxing politics and road bumps, creating a precedent for other champions.

Carl Frampton, a former two-weight champion who is now a BT Sport pundit, said that it "just doesn't happen" in these times.

"He's a person who stays in the gym and goes back after every fight. It is wonderful to see."

"It's great to see someone like that who is willing to fight so many times.

"I saw something that he started to play golf, which takes his mind away from boxing, which is usually 24/7.

"I believe it's a wake-up call for other champions to fight four fights per year. It is possible, and a good amount.

"I like to take breaks between fights, where I don't do much. But he is a different fighter and loves the sport.
