CANELO ALVAREZ became the first undisputed super-middleweight champion by submitting Caleb Plant in the 11th round.
The Mexican fighter struggled throughout the fight but eventually found his power punches when it was necessary - and with some style.
Caleb Plant was wiped out by Canelo Alvarez in round 11 with some brutal power
.
Canelo didn't find his range until the eleventh, when he delivered a brutal lefthook that jarred Plant's brains.
Plant was able to get up and walk again, but it took him only seconds before Canelo made more power shots to send Plant to the ground.
As the MGM erupted, the referee ignored it and crowned one of the most outstanding boxers ever. He walked away with the WBC (WBA), IBF, IBF, and WBO belts.
Despite Plant's impressive performance up until that point, judges ringside had Canelo ahead on the scorecards.
From the first bell, Las Vegas' crowd decided who their favorite was. Ever shot from Canelo got a whoop.
Plant was cautious as one would expect and began to box with the Mexican moving forward.

Plant quickly started the second, trying to establish his left hand lead. Canelo kept up the pressure.
Although Canelo was offered in by the American, Canelo was not satisfied and he sat too long.
Plant did the best work in the third, showing great hand speed and keeping his left high.
Canelo appeared to be there to get hit at the time, but Plant was perhaps too conservative and wary of Mexican power.
Halfway through the fourth, Canelo was finally able to get into range and took some stunning body shots.
The crowd began to get excited and it seemed to slow down the underdog almost immediately.
Plant was also hurt when Canelo caught him at their press conference.
Plant weaved and bobbed in the first stages of the fifth. Canelo was overreaching at times and bamboozled sometimes by his opponent's footwork.
Plant used a Floyd Mayweather-style defense in the sixth, sure to bring back bad memories of Canelo's only career loss.
Plant was unable to move his feet, and Canelo moved up to the body. The fan-favourite smiled at his opponent at round's end.
Canelo skipped to the seventh round - one of the rounds that he thought could be the KO.
.
After taking some heavy shots, Plant went back to his jab before they engaged in a little game of cat and mouse.
The eighth was a bit like a chess match. Plant used his jab to great effect, while Canelo struggled to get in the American's way.
Eddy Reynoso, Canelo's coach, railed against him before the ninth because their corner knew that he had to do better.
After 90 seconds, he landed a solid right hand but couldn't follow it up with anything.
Canelo was left feeling rather embarrassed after Plant's beautiful flurry shots to his face.
However, he did have some success in the tenth as he went toe to toe with Plant, who fell a few times.
Canelo won the 11th.
A giant left sank Plant. He managed to get up, but a barrage ended the fight.
After his victory, Guadalajara's 31-year old said, "I want to thank everybody here tonight. It wasn't easy to reach this point.
"But, with your support, our family, and my team, we've come a long way. This is for everyone, especially in Mexico.
Caleb Plant has my respect. He is a formidable fighter with a lot to offer.
"We are men at the end. He wanted to fight me and he wanted to continue. We had a great fight today, and there is no shame in that.
"But, of course we came out on top."
