CANELO ALAVREZ will be facing Caleb Plant in a huge super-middleweight title fight in just two weeks.
Alvarez was last seen in action in May when he defeated Billy Joe Saunders during the 8th round in Texas.
Canelo Alvarez has added the WBO title in May
Plant had to wait a bit longer to fight because he has not fought since January when he defeated Caleb Truax.
He beat Jose Uzcategui from Venezuela in his first fight for the world title, winning it in Nashville. Since then, he has defended it three more times.
Alvarez has a hot streak after his draw with Gennady Gorlovkin back in 2017.
He has since defeated Golovkin and Rocky Fielding, Callum Smith, Sergey Kovalev. Avni Yoldirim, Callum Smith, Callum Smith and Callum Smith. He is now a four-weight world champion.
Alvarez could crown the Mexican undisputed champion with Plant's IBF title of 168lbs.
Plant and Alvarez had initially planned to clash in September. However, negotiations failed before a solution was reached weeks later.
The fight will air on Showtime in the U.S. and will mark the first time Alvarez has not fought on DAZN stateside, since 2018.
Any win would make either fighter the undisputed champion of 2021. Josh Taylor won all the belts at 140lbs against Jose Ramirez in May.
Canelo vs. Plant:

- The huge event should attract close to 15,000 people.
- Canelo vs Plant will take place in the early hours on Sunday, November 7, for UK fans. Ring-walks are scheduled for 4 AM GMT.

Alvarez stated: "You're not at my level, and you'll see it on November 6. You don't want fight now, I promise.
"We came from nothing, and we worked hard to get here. Eddy was upset by the fact that someone would lie about us and make trash of us. It's what it is. On November 6, we just need to be ourselves.
"Caleb may be on the same level with Smith and Saunders, but he is not on mine. He is not going to stop fighting. I respect that. This is going to be a great fight, as you can see today.
Plant stated that "I don't know anything better than proving people wrong." This has been my life. People started talking about my limitations and the things I couldn't achieve as soon as I stepped onto the stage.
"There is no boxing community where I'm from. There was no one else I could look up to and tell me that if he does it, I can do it. My mind and my heart were all I had.
"I don’t do this for fame or attention. It was me and my father who started it when I first began. Nobody thought I would be standing here today.
Canelo Alvarez could fight for Caleb Plant.
If Alvarez defeats Plant, and he has all four 168lbs belts in his hands, there are many opportunities to have mega-fights.
Alvarez is a star in the U.S.A. and Mexico. He can fight on pay per view, as a free agent for the rest his career, if necessary.
If Alvarez were to stick around with PBC and Showtime for a while, a big-money fight with Jermall Charlo, the current WBC middleweight champion, would make sense.
David Benavidez, a former champion at supermiddleweight, and rising star, is also possible to contend with.
DAZN has a possible trilogy fight with Golovkin, but the Kazakh fighter is still upset about their results in their first two fights.
Alvarez could also return to the light-heavyweight category, where he was the WBO champion in 2019 after defeating Kovalev.
Artur Beterbiev, current WBC and IBF champ, would be the most difficult test in Alvarez’s career. He boasts a terrifying 100% KO ratio, which is the highest of any titleholder in boxing.
There's also Dimitry Bivol who is WBA champion, which seems more likely given his close relationship with Eddie Hearn (with whom Alvarez shares a strong affiliation).
