In the second round, the Brit defeated his opponent

Martin will next face Luiz Ortiz, an IBF eliminator. Joshua will then attempt to regain his belts against Oleksandr Uzyk next year.

Mike Borao, Martin's manager, claimed that his motivation is only to rematch the Brit.

Sky Sports quoted him as saying: "I think Usyk beats Joshua once again, but I am rooting to support Joshua."

"Charles wants to fight Joshua and get him KO before he retires."

"He has been focused on this singular goal since 2016, it is what motivates him, and it is the reason why he will beat Luiz Ortiz.

"Charles will do everything necessary to become a two-time heavyweight champion. This includes fighting in a second IBF eliminator against one the most avoided heavyweights around the world."

Joshua won the IBF heavyweight title by beating Martin in round two.

In a shocking points defeat to Usyk, the Brit lost his WBA (Super), IBF and WBO titles in September.

He will challenge the Ukrainian once more in the early part of next year. The UK, Ukraine, and the Middle East are all possible locations.

After seeing an opportunity clash with Andy Ruiz, Martin will take on Ortiz, a veteran bruiser in Florida on New Year's Day.

Borao said: "Charles told me to match him with Andy Ruiz, the only fighter who can KO Joshua.

"I tried very hard for Andy to fight, but he refused."
