CHRIS EUBANK SR renews his rivalry against Nigel Benn, but will not be able to get back in the ring with him for all the gold at Buckingham Palace'.
The legendary middleweights are back in public three decades later, reliving their fight on a speaking tour.
Eubank (left), won the first fight in 1990 against Benn (right).
However, while Benn, 57 years old, smiles and says he would be happy to fight in a trilogy, Eubank, 55, isn't having it.
In the last year, former heavyweight champions Roy Jones Jr. and Evander Holyfield returned to the ring in their 50s.
Benn, who trains twice daily with Conor, fantasizes about that last showdown with his former dance partner.
He stated that he would love the trilogy as a reminder of the fight he won in the second. He knows that they were giving it as a draw, but I won that fight.
Eubank insists that he won't be tempted to take one last pay day.
He stated, "I wouldn’t trade my peace of mind to the world." Since I have already hit the bullseye, I won't be aiming again. I will not be able hit the bullseye if I try to aim again. That's something you can only do in your 20s.
"I have aimed, fired and am grateful for my score. This king could not be stopped by all the gold in Buckingham Palace.
Benn lost a ninth round TKO to Eubank in their November 1990 meeting at Birmingham's NEC, before their controversial draw at Old Trafford three years later.
Although the pair have buried the hatchet many years ago, it doesn't mean that things won't get feisty again when they are up close to each other on stage.
Benn said: "If you were playing draughts or chess, we'll always be in a rivalry."
The Dark Destroyer has no ill will toward Eubank, his nemesis who helped him retire as a very wealthy man.
Benn said, "I didn’t think we’d get to this point but we have. We have grown up and matured. Chris has been a blessing in my life. Without Chris, I wouldn’t be a retired man.
"Thanks to him, I was able at 32 to retire. Thank you, Chris. To have the lifestyle that I have. These are the things you can only imagine.
Eubank said, "I'm happy." If you show me a man who would jeopardize his happiness, I'll make you look foolish."
However, Eubank's position will not stop Benn, an ultra-competitive competitor, from trying to twist his arms for one more tussle.
He said, "Let's have an entertaining show and then have a talk." There is plenty of room. They are looking for old rivalries.
"But not like Holyfield. "I wouldn't step into the ring with that attitude."
Eubank is often criticized for being arrogant and pretentious. He looks forward to showing the camera a side of him that's rarely seen on their 20-stop tour.
He said, "People have slightly misunderstood my words."
