GGG was defeated by Canelo again and confirmed that he would be moving back to middleweight.

Eubank (33 years old) has been calling for a fight against Golovkin (44) ever since 2016 when their talks fell at the last hurdle.

The British contender is all set to fight GGG for Christmas, even though Conor Benn will be back on October 8.

Eubank tweeted "GGG, you had a great race."

"Come back to middleweight and let's fight in December for those belts or just pass them over. I'll take care of them for the next few years while you retire...you earned it, champ."

Eubank will fight Benn, 25, at a career-low 157lb in his catchweight match with Benn.

This is despite his dad's calls to him to quit, as he was concerned about losing the additional 3lb.

Golovkin, however, was not happy about his retirement and vowed to continue to defend his WBA/IBF/WBO belts.

He stated, "Remember guys. I still have three belts at 160. I'll be back, guys. I'm still champion guys."

After 36 rounds of shared rounds with Canelo (32), Golovkin ended his half-decade feud with Canelo.

He stated: "I would like to shake hands and greet Canelo. He is a true warrior, and if you don’t understand him, you won’t understand anything."
