Deontay Wilder asserts that Anthony Joshua's team refused a fight with KO artist, because 'everybody chose me to win'

DEONTAY WILDER claimed that a undisputed heavyweight fight with Anthony Joshua was lost because the Brits were afraid he would lose.

In 2018, Wilder was the WBC champion and Joshua the WBA, IBF, and WBO belt holder. A major unification fight was in the cards between the two.

Wilder claims Joshua's team steered the fight to protect him

Wilder claimed that Joshua's team had obstructed the fight to protect Wilder, which was eagerly awaited.

"Boxing is a business, and I'm here tell the truth, all truths and nothing but the truth," said the Bronze Bomber.

"I don't have any reason to lie in gladiator sports, but some people choose not to believe me when I tell the truth.

"Everybody picked Joshua to beat him and that's why they [Joshua’s team] didn’t want to fight the fight before.

"That is why they took me on a six month rollercoaster, because they did everything possible to avoid a fight.

"They didn't want to fight."

Eddie Hearn, AJ's promoter, reached out to Wilder’s representatives last month in order to gauge their interest.

Wilder stated: "Fast forward many years, and now we are seeing it.

"We'll see, because we ain’t b ***********.

"They put a bad taste into my mouth every single time I talk about them.

"These managers, promoters and s*** like them get in the way big fights happening due to their greed."

Wilder, 36, turned down a lucrative deal with Joshua to face him in exchange for a rematch with Tyson Fury after their controversial December 2018 draw.

The Gypsy King was the target of a Twitter fury. The American stated: "When that fight ended in a draw, you told me that I would give your a rematch.

"You know, I was offered more money for Joshua than I was getting to face you.

"Again, being a man of mine word, I fought with you like I promised."

Wilder will be back in the ring next month after his devastating knockout loss to Fury last Oct. He will also be battling his sparring partner Robert Helenius in New York.

Joshua will return to the ring in December after his defeat to Oleksandr Uzyk in Saudi last month.
