Wilder was just 20 years old when he started boxing to help his daughter with spina bifida.
Joshua won the Olympic gold medal in 2012 after only five years of his journey.
Similar to Wilder, Wilder was a bronze medallist just three years after he started the sport. He had previously won in Beijing.
Despite having similar beginnings in the sport, the American insists that he is not like AJ.
He stated on the Last Stand Podcast, "They made Anthony Joshua."
They made him. We're born to do it, not made. Even at the Olympics, they gave him this medal.
They bought many belts. He was not prepared for the way they handled him and how they prepared him for certain moments.
Joshua, 36, and Wilder (32), were in negotiations for a undisputed superfight in 2019, but the deal fell through.
The Bronze Bomber completed a trilogy with Tyson Fury (34), drawing in 2018, but losing the subsequent matches.
Joshua lost two times to Oleksandr Uzyk on the spin, but he is now close to agreeing to a surprise deal to fight Fury next.
Wilder will be back against Robert Helenius (38), on October 15, but insists that AJ still needs to settle his score.
He stated, "I still wanna whoop my ass. I won't rob the fans by not making that fight happen. That fight should happen.
"I want to know if they are real."
