Size Comparison Leaves Promoter Speechless

Eddie Hearn, promoter for Anthony Joshua, was left stunned at the sheer size of Francis Ngannou during a recent press conference ahead of their upcoming fight. Hearn admitted that when he saw Ngannou up close, he couldn't help but be amazed by the 6ft 4in, 19 stone MMA star.

"You Look Like a Middleweight"

Speaking to Queensberry Promotions, Hearn revealed his astonishment, saying, "I turned to AJ and told him 'you look like a middleweight compared to this guy.' It's the first time AJ has ever competed with someone who is remotely the same in terms of frame and mass."

No Easy Challenge

Despite being impressed by Ngannou's size and strength, Hearn still has doubts about his ability to take on the elite fighters in boxing. "I don't believe you can just stroll into the sport and beat the best," Hearn stated. However, he acknowledged that Ngannou came very close to defeating Tyson Fury, who is widely regarded as the best heavyweight in the world.

"A Fight Full of Jeopardy"

Hearn emphasized that Joshua is taking the fight against Ngannou very seriously. He believes that by using his brain, skill, and speed, Joshua should come out victorious. "It's a fight full of jeopardy," Hearn said, "but one that Joshua can win."

Ngannou's Boxing Debut and Joshua's Respect

Ngannou made his boxing debut last October, dropping Tyson Fury but ultimately losing on a controversial decision. With Fury opting to fight Oleksandr Usyk instead of granting a rematch, Ngannou had to search for a new opponent. Joshua, who weighs 17st 13lb, is not underestimating Ngannou and acknowledges his boxing skills, stating, "If Tyson underestimated Ngannou, I sure won't."
