ANTHONY JOSHUA's highly-stakes rematch against Oleksandr Usyk is expected to be completed within the next fortnight.

After the proud Ukrainian took up arms during the ongoing war with Russia, the Watford warrior's second encounter with the slick southpaw was in serious doubt.

Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua are ready to exchange blows in July

Eddie Hearn, the promoter, believes that the rematch between the two will take place within the next two week.

The 34-year old was granted permission to leave his homeland recently to prepare for the rematch. Eddie Hearn, the promoter, expects that the match will take place by mid July at the earliest.

Boxing Scene was informed by him that he is in final negotiations to secure sites either for the end of June, or early-mid of July.

"I think we'll have information in two weeks."

"There's still an option for the UK but we don’t need to do any negotiations. We can simply book it."

The Saudis, who are oil-rich, are the favorites to win the second installment of Usyk against Joshua.

Although June 25 was originally the working date for the dust-up in the desert, SunSport has since changed that to July 23.

Joshua was easily defeated by Usyk in their Tottenham tussle last Sept. to win the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles.

He's finding it difficult to keep his eyes on the maiden defense of the unified belts as his country is being devastated by war.

BlockAsset was informed by him that he wanted to focus as much as possible on his preparation for the rematch.

"Because I can't stop thinking about the war and about my friends in Ukraine at the moment.

"And I must get rid of such thoughts in order to prepare well for the Anthony Joshua battle and be able glorify again My God Jesus Christ and my native country."

He said, "Boxing is not a sport. Boxing is a skill." War is survival.

"Fortunately, I didn’t see much of it, but I did see what I heard from my family and friends. It was terrible.

"Some of my friends have disappeared and we don’t know where they are right now.

"Many of my relatives lost their homes, lost their friends, and lost loved ones.

"Frankly, everything that's going on right now in Ukraine is very horrible.
