Heavyweight boxer Eric Molina, who has fought both Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, believes Joshua has the potential to knock out Tyson Fury in their upcoming bout.
Molina, who challenged Wilder for the WBC world title in 2015, had the American hurt with a left hook during the fight. However, Wilder ultimately knocked out Molina in the ninth round. The following year, Molina faced Joshua for the IBF belt and was stopped in just three rounds.
According to Molina, Joshua's ferocious combination-punching could be the key to victory against Fury. He compared Fury's defensive style to his own approach against Wilder, which was to avoid taking big shots. Molina emphasized the importance of movement and not just standing still to cover up against Wilder's powerful punches.
Molina stated, "What Joshua does, he doesn't give you that boom. He's very fluid with his punches. He comes with three, four, five, maybe even a six."
Both Joshua and Wilder will be returning to the ring on the same card in Saudi Arabia on December 23. Joshua will be facing Otto Wallin, while Wilder will be taking on Joseph Parker. If both fighters emerge victorious, a blockbuster matchup between Joshua and Wilder could be on the horizon in 2024.
