Ngannou Confirms Rematch with Fury in October
Francis Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion, has revealed that he will face off against Tyson Fury in a rematch in October. The Cameroonian fighter stunned the world with his performance against Fury in October last year, dropping the WBC heavyweight champ in the third round. Despite the defeat, Ngannou is eager to get back in the ring for another shot at Fury.
First, Ngannou Takes on Anthony Joshua in March
Before the highly-anticipated rematch with Fury, Ngannou will have a lucrative showdown with Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia in March. The fight is expected to be a money-spinning clash, with Ngannou predicted to take home at least $20 million (£15.7 million) after pay-per-view and additional bonuses, according to Forbes. The date for the Riyadh rumble is reportedly set for March 9.
A Rematch Clause in the Contract
In an interview with the MMA Hour, Ngannou confirmed that the rematch clause between him and Fury meant that the rematch would not happen right away, but within the next 12 months. He explained that their term for the rematch was in one year, which would fall in October this year. However, there is a possibility that the "right away" term in the contract could refer to a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, who is also set to fight Fury.
A Chance for Ngannou to Shine
Ngannou expressed his excitement for the opportunity to fight Joshua while waiting for the rematch with Fury. He stated that he asked for the fight and believes it won't take away anything from the Fury rematch. Ngannou is also signed with the Professional Fighters League, and fans could expect him to return to MMA in between his fights with Joshua and Fury. His last fight in the Octagon was a victory over Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 in January 2022.

With Ngannou's upcoming bouts against Joshua and Fury, fans can expect an action-packed year for the heavyweight fighter.
