JAKE PAUL was embroiled in a Twitter feud with Tommy Fury's promoter Frank Warren. He claimed that he had not heard a 'peep’ from them about rescheduling the grudge match.
Paul and Fury were 22 and 24, respectively. The fight was canceled after Fury became ill and injured.
Last weekend, Jake Paul and Tommy Fury were set to collide
Paul, a YouTuber and boxer turned to UFC fighter Tyron Woodley's sixth round KO, expected to hear from Team Fury. However, he claimed they have yet to contact his management.
The former Disney star tweeted Tuesday evening: "Just asking my team if they have heard from Frank Warren, Fury's or Queensberry... Not a f *****g!
"Fumbles and fake flacks they are!"
Warren, a veteran Queensbury Promotions chief, was furious and asked Paul if he wanted to face the former Love Islander.
Warren responded to the tweet by saying: "No fakes or fumbles here.
"We spoke with your manager last weekend. Tommy wants it. It is what we want. Are you ready for it?
Let's fight! !"
Paul, Problem Child, questioned whether Fury's showdown with Fury would ever come to fruition after he had iced Woodley.
He said, "I don’t know what the next step is on my roadmap." I've done everything, I've achieved what I want.
"I need to stop, I have been doing this non-stop for over a year and half, and it's a lot.
"I'm tired, I need to spend some time with my family at Christmas, and then go on vacation. I haven't been on vacation since I was 18, so I'm not sure what to do.
"I said to myself, "Not until you feel like your life is in a place where you can afford a vacation." And I do.
"I'm going on my first real vacation without any obligations. I've been on vacations that I had to film, vlog, interview and get up at a specific time to work out.
"I'm on a real vacation, doing backflips in the water. I'll return whenever I feel like it."
Warren is optimistic that the two will meet "early" next year.
Sky Sports was informed by him that they would be looking at rescheduling in the early 2022.
"Jake claimed that Tommy Fury was lucky he wasn’t there, but Tommy was really unlucky to be there with his injury.
"A fit Tommy Fury will be a different proposition than Tyron Woodley."
