"He can have another whooping" - Kell Brook is ready to fight Amir Khan once more as a rival contemplates invoking the rematch clause

KELL BROOK is willing to give Amir Khan "another whooping" - it was revealed that a rematch has been considered.

Brook seemed to have ended a rivalry that lasted nearly two decades after dominating Khan for six rounds.

The famously difficult to negotiate fight also included a rematch clause in a contract for the loser.

Brook, 35 is happy to do it again despite rumours Khan (35), is considering a rematch.

Sky Sports reported that he said: "If he wishes another whooping, he can have another whooping.

"It was so one-sided that I don't know how he can speak and bring back the table with me.

"If he'd like that rematch, I will dust them off and do it again."

Ben Shalom (the man who finally reached an agreement on the grudge match) revealed that Khan wants to exercise his right for a rematch.

Shalom stated: "I believe the word on street is true – Amir Khan, but he doesn’t want to call that a day.

He said that he has been thinking about the fight for the past few weeks. He feels like he had ten more weeks to prepare, while Kell Brook only had six months.

He feels like he has been treated unfairly. He does have a rematch clause, though I'm not sure if that fight is possible.

"It's time for me, Kell Brook, to move on, regardless of whether it's to retire, or to fight any other names.

"I don't see it. But Amir is convinced. We will hear his reasons in the next few weeks and we'll take it from there."

Khan, who was just 17 years old, won silver at Athens Olympics 2004 before becoming a world champion in the pros.

However, Brook's crushing defeat seemed to be the end of an historic and glittering career.

Promoter Shalom also agreed that now was the right time to give up on the British boxing icon.

He stated, "Whatever he do, he's had an amazing career. Just for me, it probably was time to hang up my gloves. But he feels very different."
