"I want to punish his hard...he's not nice" - Canelo alvarez, out for big KO at Gennady Gorlovkin grudge match

CANELO ALEZ can't stand Gennady Glovkin -- and he is willing to make him pay.

The Mexican snarls at the mere mention of the Kazakh warrior in advance of this weekend’s third fight of their trio.

Canelo won a points win in his rematch against GGG in September 2018, one year after their draw

Canelo will be punished for "talking s***about me" and to regain top place on the pound-for-pound boxing list.

Although their rivalry dates back many years, it reached a new level when Canelo failed to pass a drug test in 2018, putting off their second fight.

After a controversial draw in 2017, the Canelo points victory was finally achieved.

The Saturday fight will take place at super-middleweight. This is the chance for the Mexican, the undisputed champion at this weight, to make up the loss to Dmitry Bivol at light-heavyweight and become the pound for pound best in the eyes the boxing world.

Golovkin, a 40-year-old middleweight champion, will fight at 168lb, although he should be comfortable with the additional weight.

Canelo, however, is determined to celebrate Mexican Independence Weekend in style.

The 32-year old snapped, "I just want him to be punished really hard." He claims to be nice, but he isn't.

"He talks a lot about me, and that's something I don't like. Although he's a great fighter, as a person? I don't believe so.

"It's one the biggest fights in my life due to the rivalry, and this third fight is the most important.

"The rivalry goes back many years and I love the fact that it's personal. It motivates me to train like crazy.

"I listen to him but at the end of it all, he's just making excuses. I listen, but don't take it too seriously.

"I don't like him lying when he talks in person. That is what I dislike. "I know that I won both fights. I have nothing to show."

Both fighters were brash during a prefight face-off this Week. Canelo, who has a record of 56-2-2 with 39KO's, said: "This fight is as edgy and as hard as I have ever been before a fight."

Golovkin never lost to Canelo during his 44-fight professional career.

"I am the greatest fighter in the world right at the moment and I don’t need to take any risks, but I love a challenge."

GGG claims that Canelo lost touch of reality and lost extensively to the stronger, bigger Bivol.

Kazakh claims that his baby-faced, ageless appearance is due to his health and his inability to use drugs. This is a swipe at Canelo, who was banned for six months after claiming that contaminated beef caused trace amounts of clenbuterol four-years ago.

Golovkin has won 42 out of 44 fights with 37 knockouts and holds three 160lb belts.

He didn't take Bivol seriously, even though he was saying the same thing in press conferences. He believed he was invincible and lost touch with reality.

"The confidence is there but you lose the fight. You raise your arms and say you lost only a few rounds. This is what I'm referring to.

"I expect him to make fewer mistakes. I know the type of fight we face and I'm ready."
