The Bold Assertion
YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has made a bold claim, stating that he is the "best fighter in the world." Despite having a record of 8-1, Paul believes he has what it takes to reach the pinnacle of the sport and become a world champion.
Backing Up His Claim
In an interview with Fox Sports Australia, Paul expressed his confidence, stating, "I'm the best in the world. That's what I believe. And that's what every fighter who gets to where they want to be believes." He went on to highlight various factors that support his claim, such as his natural ability, talent, IQ, adaptability, toughness, preparation, willpower, and the support of his team.
The Road to Redemption
After suffering his first defeat against Tommy Fury in February 2021, Paul bounced back with a victory over Nate Diaz in August. However, he decided to change his career path and focus on fighting lesser-known but experienced boxers to gain more experience. This journey began with his knockout win against Andre August in December, setting him on his path towards a world title.
Upcoming Fight and Title Aspirations
Paul is set to return to the ring on March 2 as part of the undercard for Amanda Serrano's fight against Ryan Bourland. While his masterplan is to hold a world title by the age of 30, his business partner Nakisa Bidarian believes it could happen even sooner, possibly as early as next year. Bidarian drew comparisons between Paul's trajectory and that of former IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia.
With his unwavering confidence and determination, Jake Paul continues to make waves in the boxing world as he strives to prove himself as the best fighter in the world.
