JAKE PAUL stated Tommy Fury was 'frightened' of facing him, but confirmed that he is in talks with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Paul was scheduled to meet the British ex-reality TV star in Dec, in what would have been his first opponent with a professional record in boxing.
Jake Paul stated that Tommy Fury was'scared' by the idea of facing him
Seven-0 Fury, 22-year-old, pulled out due to a broken rib, chest infection, and Tyron Woodley, 39, was left to take his place, four months after losing on points.
Paul, 25 years old, is currently in negotiations with Chavez Jr., 35 year-old ex-middleweight world champion, to try and face a recognized boxer.
On ESPN, he said: "I tried fighting Tommy Fury. He backed out after sustaining a rib injury when I tried to fight Tommy Fury.
"Undefeated, young prospect. His brother, the heavyweight champion in the world, is from Fury.
"I tried to fight him, but he became scared. He quit the fight. I don't care if he wins.
"Just because someone is a professional boxer doesn't mean that they can fight. I am going to take down all these guys.
"I'm trying fight Jacob, what's the name of his father?" Jacob Chavez Jr? Julio Cesar Chavez Jr? I don't even remember his name.
"The one who has the best day. "I'm trying to fight all of these guys."
Chavez's father, Julio Cesar Sr., is indeed one of the greatest Mexican fighters ever.
His son was previously the WBC champion, but he has been known for his lack of commitment in the ring. He recently lost to Anderson Silva, 46 (Points in June)
Paul has already won four knockouts with his five wins, so it would be a significant and admirable step up in class.
They are up against an online opponent, 'AnEsonGib,' ex-NBA player Nate Robinson (37), and Ben Askren (37), who is Woodley's former UFC welterweight.
Paul has been criticized for his non-boxing past since the beginning of his prizefighting career.
He argued that it's no different from the no-names fights that some of the best boxers ever fought when they first started.
Paul stated, "Look, I have always fought against people when the odds are even."
"Canelo just defeated Caleb Plant like a 1,400 favourite. Gervonta Davis fought Caleb Plant in his eighth fight. This was his professional boxing debut.
"Floyd [Mayweather] fought a man who was making his professional boxing debut.
"So everybody's analysing me, critiquing and paying attention from day one. But you can't tell which Mike Tyson fight I was.
"No one can tell me who Muhammad Ali is, because that was his fourth fight. But everybody has seen all my fights.
"And I'm slowly progressing and increasing the level of opposition as i get better at the gym.
