In September, he started his camp believing that he was facing Tommy Fury online.

Fury, 22 years old, pulled out of the game with a fractured rib. Woodley, 39, was appointed as his replacement. This came only four months after Paul's death.

Social media star, he knew that the show had to go on. Undercard talent was also anticipating a paycheck right before Christmas.

It also meant that the money spent on camp expenses, rounds of sparring, and months of hard training didn't go to waste.

SunSport offers an exclusive glimpse into Paul's preparations to Woodley ahead of the anticipated rematch in Florida this weekend.

BJ Flores, trainer, said that Jake prepares as if it were a world championship fight.

"When heavyweight champions enter title fights, they spar between 150 and 200 rounds.

"Jake is right on the same level. He takes it very, very seriously. He had a slight injury in his last fight.

"He had a hyperextended arm against Tyron. He went eight rounds. We went back to the drawing board and made some adjustments. Now we're ready for rock and roll."

Paul beat YouTuber "AnEsonGib", ex-NBA star Nate Robinson (37), and Ben Askren (37).

His biggest victory was against Woodley in eight rounds, in front of a Cleveland home crowd.

This was his first attempt at taking the distance (or past round two) and it has only helped Paul's confidence in boxing and ego.

Flores stated that Flores's "exceptional work ethic" is what made him stand out. He has always worked hard and is very focused.

"And I think he was really woken up by going eight rounds last night. He's got a great chip on his shoulders."

He wakes up every day ready to go to work and it's a great situation to be a trainer, because he is always hungry.

"He's very enthusiastic and we've added some wrinkles, a few things that he could do in the ring. It's going to really show on Saturday night."

Paul, an actor on Disney Channel, has led training camps in California and Las Vegas.

All of these can be considered boxing breeding areas that provide state-of the-art training facilities and sparring access.

It can be a distraction for celebrities like Paul, who is 24 years old.

The cruiserweight boxer can train incognito by moving more than 3,000 miles from LA to sunny Puerto Rico.

Flores stated that it was difficult to get people out for sparring, but we have everything in place.

"We have a professional team of travel agents, a separate home for sparring partners, and an entire facility here.

We're firing on all cylinders. To be honest, we're in a great spot. We have all the equipment and everything that we need.

It's not as severe as you might think. Maybe we aren't in a hotbed like Las Vegas.

Jake lives a very different life. His training will be easier if he has to do it alone.

"People know Jake, he's very well-known, so when we visit the States, it's easy to recognize Jake. It's also nice to be in the middle, where nobody recognizes him.

"He can focus, he can train and we are able get a lot done.

Paul has been sparring Richard Rivera (31), Muhsin Cason (28), and Nikita Abuabiy (23), who have a combined record 40-0 in recent months.

He even invited in Steve Cunningham (45), a former world champion in cruiserweight, who lost to Tyson Fury (33) in 2013.

Flores stated that "We've seen a lot of guys," including world champions Steve Cunningham and Richard Rivera who are 20-0 and one the best cruiserweights in America.

"We had Muhsin Cason 10-0 win eight knockouts and Nikita Ababiy 10-0. We've had a lot good guys out there.

"The sparring can range from five rounds to eight-ten on one day, and between five and ten on the next." He rotates men in."

Cunningham was one of the ways to get into the Fury family's mind.

Flores & Co remained focused on Woodley after Tommy, the 2019 Love Islander, left.

The trainer stated that Jake was in good shape and ready to go. Tyron should also be prepared. Tommy would have been very busy.

"I believe Tyron is a more difficult fight than Tommy. He's got more experience and more pedigree. He punches harder, and he's physically stronger.

"I believe Tyron is a more difficult fight than Tommy. We were prepared for Tommy, but that's not what's happening anymore. So we're ready to fight for Tyron."
