KELL BROOK believes Amir Khan made a mistake by giving him seven months to prepare in advance for their grudge match.
The 35-year-old couple will try to end their decade-long feud Saturday night in Manchester in a long-overdue domestic dispute.
Amir Khan and Kellbrook will finally resolve their differences this weekend
Brook, Sheffield's slugger, has not stopped thinking about Khan since the beginning of preliminary talks last July. He is now brimming over with confidence after a long training camp.
Special K stated: "He made a huge mistake by keeping me on for seven years with the contract.
"Unfortunately, I was training during that time. That is why I'm smiling now.
"I'm there with the weight. I could have lost the weight three or four weeks ago. I'm very happy with where I am now, and the 19th is right there.
Brook's weight problems in the past have been a major talking point before the Battle of Britain. The catchweight for this battle will be 149lbs.
The former IBF welterweight champion looked muscular as he drilled his pads in Manchester's open workout on Wednesday night.
He's chomping at the bit for Khan to pay for all his trash talk over the years and make him miss Christmas with his loved ones.
He stated, "I am genuinely glad I am not putting on a poker face, I am just enjoying the moment as I have worked hard to be away from my family for Christmas.
"It will all be worth it Saturday night when my hand is raised high. I believe I can win this fight by knockout.
"I don’t go out to hit stupid. But I believe that if I am 100%, the shot will be taken."
Brook hasn’t tasted victory for over two years, but he is determined to beat his domestic rival once again.
Khan told BBC about his weaknesses when asked by BBC: "His whiskers. His chin. The rest of the world knows that his chin isn't there."
He said, "Timing beats Speed" and that he always finds a way to score his shots.
"We've been in the fight for a while - we will exchange at some point. There will be lots of drama during the fight.
