GERVONTA DAVIS was backed to show his dominance of the lightweight division, and to put to rest accusations of 'duking' his competitors.
In recent years Davis has fought from super-featherweight to light-welterweight, and won belts in all three divisions.
Gervonta and Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions
He will be back against Mexican Isaac Cruz on Sunday, replacing Rolando Romero who was forced to withdraw due to sexual assault allegations.
Ryan Garcia (23), Devin Haney (23), and Teofimo López (24) have been mentioned as possible opponents to 'Tank Davis.
Lopez was the unified champion, but he was overthrown by Georges Kambsos Jr. last weekend in New York.
Haney and Garcia are unbeaten, but Garcia is also unknown at the top as the division transitions to breakthrough stars and newly crowned champs.
Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, insisted that Davis was the boss at 135lb and promised to prove it.
Ellerbe told SunSport: “To be totally honest, Tank beats them all.

"I am very, very confident in that, and when it comes to the time, he will prove it all to the world.
"All fighters are excellent, but Tank is the best. It's not even close."
"At the end, these matchups will occur if these guys keep doing what they need. I'm confident.
"Because we ain’t ducking any work over there."
Davis, 27, was scheduled to face Romero (26-year-old Mayweather protege), until Davis was forced to withdraw amid a sexual assault investigation.
Cruz, 23 years old, will instead have the opportunity of a lifetime to fill out late notice and be an overnight sensation.
Ellerbe stated: "It was unfortunate that the Romero fight ended, but you know, hey, these things are beyond our control.
"There is nothing we can do. Isaac Cruz is strong as nails. I don't buy any of the crap he's 'tailor made' for Tank.
"This guy is going to beat Tank. He is the underdog, he is a great fighter and ranked in the top 10 with every organization.
"That's all you need to know about him, he is one of the best lightweights in the entire world.
"This man is very dangerous, some people say it's a harder fight, but I don't know. It's not up to me to make that judgment."
