New trailer for controversial Mike Tyson biopic features a young boxer who KOs opponents and ends up in jail

Just a month ahead of the premiere, a gripping new trailer has been released for Mike Tyson’s biopic.

The controversial series will air on Hulu beginning August 25, with Tyson being played by Trevante Rhodes.

The series will focus on the life of one boxing's most iconic characters, both inside and outside the ring.

The latest trailer clearly shows that Tyson's story will not be told in haste.

Tyson was not happy with Hulu's series, describing it as a "tone-deaf cultural misuse"

In a statement, he stated that "Hulu's announcement of a mini-series unauthorized about the Tyson story without compensation is not surprising."

"This announcement comes on the heels social disparities in the country is a prime illustration of how Hulu’s corporate greed led the to tone-deaf cultural misappropriation the Tyson life story."

An earlier trailer featured the moment Evander Holyfield bit Evander's ear in a ring.

It also revealed the boxing champ’s relationship to his pet tigers.

A new clip of Tyson knocking out his opponents has been released.

It also provides a glimpse into the boxer's time in prison after he was convicted for rape.

The new clip also features Tyson's marriage to Robin Givens, as well as their turbulent relationship.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Karin Gist, showrunner, said that the show would 'dig deeper' into Tyson’s life and not glorify it.

Gist stated: "We weren't trying to say Mike Tyson was a hero or Mike Tyson was a villain.

"Our goal was not to find a simple and controversial figure, but to try to understand why he was being praised and denigrated. We also wanted to stay true to our North Star that no one person is the same."
