Oleksandr Usyk says all he needed was ‘another 30 seconds’ to knock down Anthony Joshua in warning ahead of rematch

OLEKSANDR USAYK said that he was less than a minute away to sending Anthony Joshua to the canvas.

Joshua was dominant by Usyk in September last year and had a very nerve-wracking end.

AJ was exhausted and barely managed to get up on his feet in the final stages of the 12th round.

Usyk claimed that he was only moments away from flooring Joshua ahead of their rematch in Saudi Arabia on August 20th.

Parimatch was told by him that Anthony might have been knocked out if Anthony had lasted another 30 seconds or a minute in the 12th Round.

"But it's not something I think about anymore. It's just guessing. It just happened. I boxed 12 rounds, and won."

Joshua, 32, moved to training camps after the loss and was replaced by Rob McCracken by Robert Garcia, an American.

AJ was an assistant trainer Angel Fernandez and completed a large portion of his camp in Loughborough.

Joshua flew to Saudi Arabia a month prior to the fight of his dreams, while Usyk was in Dubai.

According to the current champion, Anthony Joshua is a strong man and a great boxer. He cannot be dismissed in any way.

He will be different in the rematch. He will prepare differently. "I will also do that."

Usyk said, "I'm confident in my work and I do my job to its fullest." To be 100% certain about something like that is impossible.

"I don't know. But I know what my job entails. I work, I box, but victory is granted by the Lord."
