Oleksandr Usyk to Switch Sports if He Beats Tyson Fury in Undisputed Title Fight

Usyk's Plan Revealed

Oleksandr Usyk, the Ukrainian boxer, has announced that he will be switching sports if he defeats Tyson Fury in their upcoming title fight. The two heavyweights are expected to face off in February next year.

New Sport on the Horizon

If Usyk emerges victorious, it could mark his final appearance in professional boxing. The 36-year-old has already signed a contract to play football and will join Polissya, the number one team in Ukraine, on a one-year deal.

Prior Football Experience

Usyk's venture into football is not entirely new. In February 2022, he made an appearance for Polissya in a friendly match against Veres. Despite missing a scoring opportunity, Polissya won the game 2-1.

Official Collaboration

Polissya has confirmed their collaboration with Usyk. The club's president, Hennadiy Butkevich, and the boxer have signed an official agreement for one year of football cooperation. Usyk will wear the No.17 jersey.

English Football Ambitions

After his brief stint on the football pitch, Usyk expressed his interest in trying his luck in English football. He praised the toughness of the game and the players' resilience, stating that he prefers this style of football.
