TOMMY FURY will be in touch with his team "every day" to reschedule a fight against Jake Paul - but he won't wait forever.
Celebrity rivals were to compete for bragging rights and unbeaten records in a grudge match on December 18.
Tommy Fury checks in with his team "every day" to schedule a fight with Jake Paul
Fury had a broken rib, and a bacterial infection in his chest.
He still hopes to settle the score in ring but won't hold his breath because he believes his career is heading towards bigger and better things.
Fury stated on the MMA Hour, "Make no mistake, this is the fight that I want next. I'll continue to check in with my team daily to see what's up with that.
"But I will eventually have my own career. My goal hasn't changed. My goal is to become a champion in this sport.
"And, believe it or not fighting Jake Paul does not give me that. I will not be a champion boxer by fighting Jake Paul.
"So Jake Paul. It's a great fight. It's a huge fight. It doesn't make me realize my goals.

"You can talk to everyone, but this is the fight I want. My career continues, but at the end of it all.
Four months after Paul lost on points, Fury withdrew from the game and Tyron Woodley took over as Fury's replacement.
Woodley, 39 an ex-UFC champion, was brutally eliminated in round six.
It was added to by YouTuber AnEsonGib, an ex-NBA player Nate Robinson (37), and Ben Askren (37), who were both retired UFC welterweights.
Paul will now fight an opponent who has previous professional boxing experience, even though Fury's cancellation was a shock.
He stated: "The truth is that there's unfinished work here and this fight must take place. Because how can he be serious when he hasn't fought a boxer before?"
"How is he serious? He keeps referring back to the UFC.
"If he is interested in fighting in the UFC, don’t wear a boxing glove again. Go fight in UFC.
"Don't consider yourself a boxer if your only fight was against a human being."
