TYSON FURY says he was being outboxed and beaten by Steve Cunningham, before taking him out for his American debut.
The 33-year old fought the former IBF champion at cruiserweight in New York in April 2013.
Steve Cunningham dropped Tyson Fury during his American debut in 2013.
The Gyspy King was floored in round two by Deontay Wilder's looping right hook, just as he did in the first fight.
Fury was sent to the ground after being caught flush but he rose to his feet and delivered a vicious hook to win the contest in the seventh round.
This is Cunningham's last knockout loss in his 40-fight fight career.
After Anthony Joshua beat Cunningham to win the WBA and WBO belts, Fury, WBC heavyweight champion has made a comparison between Cunningham and Oleksandr Uzyk.
Fury spoke to BT Sport to discuss AJ's rematch with Usyk and offered to train his British compatriot free of charge.
Before declaring: "I believe that every heavyweight can win fights, especially one as big [Joshua] as well as strong and powerful as him.
BETTING SPECIAL GET 30/1 ON FURY OR 50/1 ON WILDER FOR HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING CLASHHe just needs to land a few good punches against Usyk, and he'd knock him out. It would be over.
"Usyk is a very skilled boxer. I've fought a thin, sharp guy like him.
"I fought Steve Cunningham. He was a very good world champion cruiserweight, 215 lbs, 6ft 3in tall, chiselled.
"He gave me one my toughest fights, but what happened at the end? It was brutal.
"And I didn’t outbox him because I was being outboxed. To get the job done, I had to go the well.
"Knock him spark off, only time he has ever been knocked out." It's not too bad.
Fury is currently training to defend his WBC belt against Wilder in their trio bout in Las Vegas.
After witnessing Joshua lose a huge Battle of Britain matchdown, the unbeaten Mancunian vows to keep his guard up against the Bronze Bomber.
