Whyte will hope the WBC allows him to confront Fury in early next year

Although Whyte (33) has now shifted his attention to the Battle of Britain With Fury, Wallin's promoter Dmitry Salita has asked for the bout to be rescheduled.

According to Sky Sports the WBC will rule on the fight 'in coming weeks'.

Whyte hopes the WBC will decide to cancel his clash with Wallin, and instead mandate Fury to face him early next year.

Even if it happens, the Brixton Body Snatcher refuses to give up on his dreams.

He stated: The Brixton body snatcher stated: "The Tyson Fury bout is a fight which I wanted, it was a fight I tried before.

"[It was] Mandated for belts but it didn't happen. It seems that it will go ahead, which is a good thing for me.

"But Tyson Fury's words are not something you can bank on."

"Because he might tell you, 'You know what, I've had enough, I don't want anymore fighting.' Or, he might add, 'I need more rest.

"He's been through three tough fights with Deontay wilder. We don't know how much they took from him.

"So, we'll just need to wait and watch."

He said, "Now I have to concentrate on healing up and then go do what I do."

33-year-old Whyte has his sights set on a stadium battle with The Gypsy King.

He stated, "It's an important fight in boxing.

"It's an important fight If me or him can dust up in the early part next year in a venue.

Whyte refuses to get too excited about Dillian.

"It's a big fight and one that I'm looking forward too. Tyson Fury is going to enjoy fighting me, I'm sure. It's a huge fight.

"We are good friends, we have sparred with one another, we have spent time together, we have had our ups, downs, and our beefs, and all that stuff.

But I believe, logically, that he'll think, "This is a good fight." It's a great homecoming fight, and it should happen. Let's wait to see.
