Dillian Whyte's legal action against the WBC means that TYSON FURY does not have a mandatory challenger to his heavyweight title.
Although Whyte was expected be given the mandate to fight the Gypsy King, he will need to wait until arbitration results to see if that happens.
Tyson Fury plans to defend his WBC heavyweight title
Team Fury is not going to wait for the verdict of the Brixton bangers legal proceedings before making their next move.
Frank Warren, the promoter of talkSPORT, stated that Tyson Fury would be back in the ring by late Februar or early March.
"Due to legal wranglings concerning Dillian Whyte Tyson doesn't have a mandatory answer. He is free to continue with a defense of his belt and it's something I'd love to stage in the UK."
Warren, Queensbury Promotions chief, insists Fury's next move will not be affected by Whyte’s legal issues with WBC.
He said, "It won’t impact on Tyson.
"Tyson has made it clear that he wants to fight in February/early March, and that's what the team is moving forward with.
Tyson wants to be active. He's only had one fight in 22 month. Dillian Whyte's story will be the final word.
"Tyson has to decide who he is going to fight. The decision will be his.
His problems will not hinder our progress. These are his problems to solve.
"Tyson is the champion of the world, not Dillian Whyte."
"He's not setting ground rules here. That's the champion who does that."
Fury, a fan favourite, is determined to defend the WBC strap again in early next year. He is open to facing anyone who puts him in front of him.
He stated that he thought he was going to fight Dillian Whyte, but he is secretly living with the WBC.
"He has a court matter going on and it's kinda s**t because he knows how long arbitrations can last because my own with Deontay wilder took 18 months.
"I pray he doesn't get caught in the long grass, and I hope he doesn't get force into another fight as a voluntary defense.
"But I don’t care, they’re all just work-outs to me. I will destroy them all as I have done every day of my life.
"It doesn't matter if it's Dillian Whyte or Dillian Blue.
"I don't want to wait around for others, I will fight again in February, or early March if necessary, to defend my WBC heavyweight title."
