TYSON FURY declared that he would fight for the UK, just as a few boxers in Ukraine.
Wladimir Klitschko (the Gypsy King's defeated opponent in 2015 to become the world champion), and Oleksandr Usyk, WBA, IBF and WBO title holders, have signed up to defend their homeland against the Vladimir Putin-ordered Russian invasion.
Oleksandr Usyk returns to Ukraine to help defend against Russia's invasion
Vasyl Lomachenko and Vitali Klitschko have bravely joined in the fight.
Wladimir, an ex-champ, enlisted in Ukraine’s reserve army before the attack. Then, when Russia launched their invasion, Vitali, his brother and former title holder, announced that he was joining.
Lomachenko joined the Belgorod–Dnestrovsky Territory Defense on the weekend before Usyk did it in Kyiv.
Fury responded to the above news telling talkSPORTBoxing Insider, "Well, that's what they should do."
"When it comes down to war on UK soil I'll be the first to rise.
"I'll go first, at 6ft 9ins I'll be the easiest target, and I'll be dead last.
"Frank [Warren] is going to be shading from the bullets in front of me, and I'll just catch all of them like a nutcase."
Fury will be speaking to the media today at Wembley ahead of Dillian Whyte's WBC Title defense on April 23.
Fury spoke at today's press conference and said that it was amazing what they were doing.
"If America or England got involved, I would be the first one to sign up, along with my dad and all our boys.
"If you're from a country, you should do it. Love your woman, fight for your country. That's what I have to say.
There was speculation that a step-aside agreement could be reached to create a Fury-Usyk unification showdown, but it was never signed.
Fury said: "Dillian Whyte was content with his money, but AJ was unhappy with his step-aside. They lost the largest deal for him out there.
"Now he is in limbo because Oleksandr Usyk is back in Ukraine with his machine gun. It doesn't appear that he will be fighting anytime soon.
