WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman will not set a timeline for Fury's retirement.

Fury, 33 years old, is still required to leave the WBC's prestigious greenbelt, but he won't be subject to any pressure from the Mexican sanctioning agency.

Planet Sport spoke with Mauricio Sulaiman, chief of WBC, about his thoughts: "We're going give him the time he requires to reflect, to relax. He just did the mandatory division.

"I don't want to press him or his team into any decision making. He is on vacation with his family, so we will still be in communication.

"I don't think we will get him in three months. There's no time limit. I respect Tyson Fury's privacy and his time with his family. But, we will definitely talk in the near future."

Fury must be clear about his future to ensure that the division does not remain in uncertainty.

He said, "We have to address the situation for him to retire but at the moment, we are just giving his much-deserved time to enjoy the holidays."

Fury won the WBC belt in February 2020 by beating Deontay Wilder in the seventh round. He also retained it against Wilder last October.

Sulaiman also admitted that the former champion would be willing to fight for it if it becomes vacant.

He stated that Wilder was the number one contender, and Joe Joyce is number two. Three is Joseph Parker.

"I believe that [Joyce] and Parker will have a fight to win the WBO interim title - we haven't received any confirmation, but we will wait and watch.

"There are many variables around there."

Fury wants Wilder to fight for his belt. He told Behind the Gloves that he would like to see Deontay Wilder again fight for the belt.

"I don’t know how this [Wilder being No.1 on the WBC rankings] is possible. He has lost three fights in succession and is still No.1-rated.
