ANTHONY JOSHUA demonstrated his incredible power while training for his fight against Oleksandr Usyk, by almost destroying a medicineball.
On September 25, the unified heavyweight champion will defend his title against Usyk, who is a mandatory challenger.
AJ started his camp at Team GB's Sheffield HQ. He then got to work on some power drills.
Joshua uploaded a video of him throwing a medicine ball against a wall to improve his explosiveness.
The Brit, 32, will have a larger advantage than ex-cruiserweight king Usyk (34), despite the Ukrainian's weight gain.
This will be Usyk's third fight at the heavyweight. He previously defeated Chazz Witherspoon (39), in 2019 and then Derek Chisora (37) a year later.
He has been bulking up since the win over Chisora, and recently weighed 16st 4lb via an online video.
This is almost a stone less than AJ who weighed in at 17st2lb for his win against Kubrat Pulev (40) in December 2019.
AJ'S A DIFFERENT KIND of BEAST
Eddie Hearn, the promoter of Usyk, stated to talkSPORT that Usyk would never become a full-fledged heavyweight. Hearn also said that Usyk is not a heavyweight in terms size.
"But what he will always possess is a tremendous amount of skill.
"It takes time to get into heavyweight. So let's put it this way: It would have been a lot easier fight with AJ a year and a half ago.
"Now that Usyk has fought in a real heavyweight contest in Chisora it will help him to begin to understand what is needed.
But AJ is a different type of beast. We'll see. A big man will always beat a small one.
Joshua was only allowed to fight Usyk after Tyson Fury's all-British unification match with him collapsed.
Fury, 32, was made to face Deontay Wester, 35, after the American won his right for a three-round bout in arbitration.
This leaves AJ with even more time to wait for his chance at the heavyweight title, but AJ warned Usyk that he is just as dangerous as any other fighter.
