CHRISEUBANK Jr. is close to handing over more that PS66,000 to charity. This happened after a microwave he bought in Newcastle was listed on eBay.
The boxer, a middleweight, promised that he would match the price of the kitchen appliance - and it did.
Chris Eubank Jr was as shocked as we were at the microwave sale
Eubank Jr was unsurprisingly shocked by the rapid increase in things. He wrote on Twitter: "Well, that escalated quickly."
It is possible that the auction has closed and the listing is no longer available.
He took a walk through Newcastle after attending a press conference at St James' Park last Thursday for his fight against Wanik Adijan.
After taking a few selfies and signing autographs, one young man approached him with the kitchen appliance. He asked for his signature.
In a black jacket with a black cap, the Geordie man provided the Sharpie pen and deadpan stated: "It is the only thing that I have."
Eubank Jr couldn't believe his eyes when he said, "Nah! Not the microwave!"
The Sussex scrapper then handed his bag over, stayed cool and wrote to plastic.
Since its debut on the auction site, the microwave has been a subject of a lot of interest.
The owner stated that he had signed a microwave contract with Chris Eubank Jr., and was based in Newcastle.
"This is the UK's most famous microwave."
The boxer, a middleweight boxer, shared the listing via Twitter. He wrote: "Been sent an eBay link that's selling the microwave I signed up in Newcastle.
"I have no idea what it will go for, but to make it more meaningful, whatever the winning bid is, I'll match it and give the money to the charity of my choice."
Awdijan was beaten to submission by Eubank Jr at the weekend. The German-Armenian pulled the plug after only five rounds and claimed broken ribs.
