KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV was mocked by Tony Ferguson and Nate Diaz after they discussed his street-fighting days alongside Mike Tyson.

During an interview on Hotboxin with Mike Tyson the former UFC lightweight champion said that he recalled his days fighting in Dagestan's streets and that he would do anything for his mother.

His comments did not impress Nate Diaz, his fan favorite

"I can recall when I was a child, 5, 6, 7 years old, when I fought in the streets and came back, she never asked, 'Why are you fighting?'

"My father always asked me, "Hey, stop fighting!" Because I have skills and knowledge, I can hurt people because of my training.

"My mother asked me every day, "Do you win or lose?" I replied, "I win." She then said, "This is good, it's okay to lose, but never go home if you win."

"My mother doesn’t like me to hurt people but she also knows that street is street and you must show your heart when you walk down the street.

"Because they don’t have rules, and they don’t have referees, you must protect yourself at all costs."

Diaz and Ferguson quickly spotted Nurmagomedov’s comments, and both took aim at Russia's first UFC champion.

Diaz brawled alongside Nurmagomedov in the 2015 World Series of Fighting 22. He tweeted: "That's a kabob full of s**t."

Ferguson was the former interim lightweight champion and had five fights against Dagestani that were unsuccessful. He tweeted: "Well, that explains everything."

"29 - 1. Fathead, run. Fathead, run. Bawk, Bawk."

Ferguson's latest dig at retired Nurmagomedov received a swift response from Ali Abdelaziz (the Dagesani's manager), who mocked El Cucuy’s recent losses to Justin Gaethje, Beneil Dariush.

He tweeted: "Justin & Beneil, I can send one more to take care of you if it's not quiet."

Nurmagomedov (32), is currently retiring from mixed martial arts after defeating Gaethje at UFC 254 last October.

UFC President Dana White tried desperately to get The Eagle to do a U-turn, but gave up, telling TMZ, "I've given up all hope, so you too should." [Khabib] is done.

"Believe it me, I threw my kitchen sink at that kid, tried to get his to stick around, and I think he's done."

He said, "I think that he's sliding into the coach's position.

"You know, he was undefeated throughout his career, and he retired undefeated. Now, he is undefeated as coach."

"So, the guy has had nothing except success, he continues being successful, and I believe he's moving onto that next chapter in his life."
