Dana White, MMA's supremo, is excited but cautious about the UK's weather.

Edwards, 30 years old, knocked out Nigerian Nightmare with a Hail Mary Head Kick in the last minute of their eagerly-awaited rematch for the welterweight title.

After finally obtaining UFC gold, the ex-tearaway from the council estate has decided to bring the American fight league back to England.

He stated: "To be able to headline a Wembley card in the UK in a sold out arena, along with all the other UK men would be incredible.

"UK MMA has been on the rise, and I'm glad to be the front runner.

"There will be more champions coming from the UK over the next five year, I believe that."

UFC President Dana White is open for Edwards' wish, but is wary about staging a Wembley event due to England’s unpredictable weather.

He said: "How do you not do a [rematch]? F**k! Wembley? I don't know.

"I am afraid to go outside and I am definitely afraid to go outside in England.

"I am serious, but I joke about Wembley.

"Anything is possible now in England. It would be both fun and scary at the same. England's weather isn’t great.

Edwards was trailing on the scorecards, and on course for a narrow points loss before he put his left foot on the chins of Usman.

The fairytale win for the slick southpaw would not have been possible if his mum hadn't thrown him into MMA as a teenager in order to keep him from the streets of Birmingham.

He stated that his mum had signed him up for MMA training to keep him off the streets and keep him out of trouble.

"I used it to transform our family's future. I am proud of my achievements and proud of who I am."

Leon Edwards, the UK's second champion, holds the UFC 170lb title.

Edwards will defend the welterweight title in a trilogy fight against Africa's first UFC champion.

After suffering his second loss, Usman, now 35, is plotting his revenge.

He tweeted, "Champs f**k sometimes... but we bounceback and come with vengeance!" !

"I love this sport! It happens, but we move! Congrats @Leon_edwardsmma

Edwards is however confident that he will stop the former champion more emphatically the third time around.

He stated, "That was his finest performance, that was all he could offer."

"And that was all I could offer. If we have a rematch it will be a completely different story.
