After he has retired from boxing, TYSON FURY will switch the ring to a mixed martial art cage.
For the past two years, The Gypsy King teased a transition to MMA. He trained with UFC star Darren Till at Liverpool’s famous Kaobon gym.
Tyson Fury hinted at a possible transition to mixed martial arts at a variety of times.
Fury, 33, is quiet on the MMA front, but father John insists he will step foot in the cage before the end of his story.
Joe was told by him: "I believe the more difficult it is for Tyson, I think it's the better it's for him."
It brings, what they call, "I dunno", something new to his job, don't you think?
"It gives him more things to do and more goals to reach."
"I believe that Tyson wants that, and when he retires from boxing, he will probably go to that, and possibly return to boxing.
"Whatever he does. You'll be able to see that he is willing to engage in this.
Fury demonstrated some surprising good elbows and knees during his UFC middleweight Till training session.
John believes that a 'top' MMA coach can make the WBC heavyweight champion a force inside the cage.
He said, "With the right training [he'd] do] very well." Because I've seen him excel in different sports like wrestling.
"I have some idea of Tyson's past from that and he loves to get involved, Tyson.
"And I know his feelings from being a child. Believe it or not, he can use more than his hands.
"And he is quick and he can lighten his feet. But his balance and strength are good. I believe that a top MMA trainer could take him on.
Ask Darren Till. He's done the work. He can smash his forearms and do all the other stuff that you need.
"The knees rise and the head goes in, then the elbows. It's something I have seen in boxing.
"I have seen him outside in fights, this, that, and the other. "I know what he can do.
"And with the right training, he could achieve that."
Fury, a fan favourite, is currently preparing for a trio fight with Deontay Wilder, former WBC champ.
On October 9, The Bronze Bomber will be rekindling their rivalry at Wythenshawe.
Fury, who just celebrated the birth his sixth child, stopped the American in round seven of their Sin City match last February to win the WBC strap.
