Conor McGregor, UFC star, has defended his terrible first pitch that went viral Wednesday.
The 33-year old was invited to throw the first pitch at Wrigley Field, before the Major League Baseball match against the Minnesota Twins.
McGregor looked dapper while he threw
It's clear that his efforts didn't turn out as he hoped.
McGregor took the ball to the plate, and the Notorious quickly defended his attempt.
He did much more than just defend it.
Insisting on Instagram, the outspoken Irishman called his pitch "powerful" and "fastest", despite its inaccuracy.
McGregor posted a lengthy caption to his 42.3 million Instagram followers: "Barring the accuracy, [it] is the most powerful, fastest first pitch of all these other athletes/ artists over the years." No comparison."
He continued to state that his pitch was "Venom." Composure. Balance!
Fans made comparisons between McGregor's pitch failure and that of 50 Cent in 2014, which led to the post.
McGregor took offence at the comparisons and said: "The audacity of comparing mine with this p ***! This is what picture to picture alone can't show.
American attempts to reach the target were also far off, and they lacked power.
McGregor took aim at Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and other football stars in a bizarre rant.
Celebrities are sometimes invited to throw the ceremonial opening pitch at baseball games. However, not all celebrities are as accurate as McGregor's effort.
Simone Biles, Olympic champion and boxing legend Mike Tyson are two of the most prominent names in sports invited to throw the first pitch.
