CONOR MCGREGOR was inspired by UFC's newcomer Ian Garry, as he prepares for his return to the octagon.
Garry, an Irishman, made a stunning debut at Madison Square Garden last week. He won an emphatic first round KO victory over Jordan Williams in the UFC 268 prelims.
In his UFC debut at Madison Square Garden, Ian Garry defeated Jordan Williams by KO.
.
McGregor, who is still recovering from a broken leg and stayed up to see Garry make his announcement to the world, and he took inspiration from Garry's post-fight interview following his maiden UFC victory.
The Notorious stated in a series tweet voice notes: "Ian [Garry], that's a great finish for you.
"The step back, the back paw, and all that you throw.
"My God, man. "What the f**k?" After that, I'm all over this place. It's a wonderful thing, mate. It is my absolute favorite.
"The takeover: Part two. I'm part of that takeover. I'm back for this. That's what I will do.
"I'm all about that takeover part 2. F ****g hell. Ian, I appreciate your respect.
"At this point for me, coming home from this injury, that means so much to me.
"This is possibly the most difficult couple of months I have ever experienced in my entire life.
"To see you go outside and to pay respect like that. Go out and do that.
"To crack him with his step, step back paw. It's just that - it's f***ing crazy about that for me.
"And I'm buzzing around over that."
He said, "Fair play bro. I'm buzzing to you, I'm absolutely buzzing to you.
"I'm just buzzing.
"Sitting here with this ‘f***in’ poxy injury. Can't spar. It's making me head in.
"And you're here giving me this little buzz man. I appreciate it, mate.
"The takeover, part two, I love it, yeah.
"Who is the other Irish fighter out there, now or in this world who will join us for this takeover part 2?"
"Because you know what? I'm coming back, and I'm joining that takeover part 2 action.
"Someone is getting bust-up when you get back." When I return, I'm going to burst someone."
Garry, 23 years old, was overwhelmed by the man's motivation to get him into mixed martial arts.
During an appearance during The MMA Hour: "We are listening, and I am laughing, there is a big smile across my face.
"It was the simple fact that Conor could feel motivated by what I just said.
"He was saying, like: 'I respect this so much' in a sense that 'In my most difficult time, I'm returning from an injury, and this has given me motivation.
"And he was like: 'I'm part [of that] Irish takeover too.'
McGregor is on a long road of recovery but Garry still has the ambitions to share a card with Ireland’s first UFC champion.
He said, "Hey, let’s get on with it, Conor. Let's do it.
"Ireland will explode when you put him and me on a card." I'm in.
