White, the UFC's supremo, has not ruled out an Irishman making a comeback at the end of the year.

McGregor, 33 years old, is making a quicker recovery than expected and is already back on his feet. He is still using a cane.

White said that the UFC's poster child could return to the cage this year if his leg can absorb kicks.

The Australian Daily Telegraph was told by the veteran promoter: "Conor seems pretty much in recovery."

"The question is when can he kick again?"

"If he could kick, then he would be looking at fighting before the end of this year again. So it all depends on how quickly that leg heals."

McGregor was able to get back on his feet last month thanks to an anti-gravity treadmill that helped him place 50 percent of his body weight on the injured leg.

The Notorious is already capable of throwing any of his many kicks.

Adam's Apple was told by him: "I feel like kicking right now.

"I feel like I could kick right about now, but I have to listen to my doctors and listen to those who are leading me.

"That's all I've done so I've committed myself and am now back on my feet.

"It feels so good to get back on your feet."

He said, "I was upset for quite a while. It was not easy, you understand what I mean.

"There have been some ups and downs in this [journey]

It's one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced in my entire life. You get what I'm referring to?

"It wasn't all smooth sailing but I made it through. My family and close friends were always there for me.

"And we are getting there. "We still have a lot to do.

McGregor is pleased with his speedy recovery but doesn't intend to go against doctors' orders.

He stated that he didn't want to be too ahead of himself. However, I feel like I could kick right now, as I mentioned.

"I am not yet advised to kick, but I'm going to get back, man.

"You think that a broken bone will stop you?" You might be wrong.
