Khabib Nurmagomedov, his former manager, has slammed CONOR MCGREGOR for claiming he deserved a shot at the world title shot.

After two consecutive defeats at Dustin Poirier's hands, the 33-year-old Irishman is now coming off the heels of his third defeat.

Poirier beat McGregor for the second consecutive time in July

In January, he was stopped in round two of their fight. He was then forced to retire in July after a broken leg.

McGregor was beaten by Khabib in 2018, before returning to knockout Donald Cerrone 2020 - his only MMA win since beating Eddie Alvarez 2016.

McGregor insists that despite his recent poor record, he should still be eligible for the UFC Lightweight Championship.

He said, "Hey, bums!" when he spoke on social media. Nobodies. I took the title shot. Happy 'Champ Champs' Day, MMA.

McGregor's claims were rebuffed by Ali Abdelaziz, Khabib's former manager. He highlighted McGregor's losing record in the past three years.

He stated, "You're 1-3 after your last four fights." Jack, sit back. You are the only bum among the top 15.

Charles Oliveira is currently the UFC lightweight champion. Justin Gaethje seems to be in line for a fight with him.

Gaethje defeated Michael Chandler in an exciting fight at UFC 268. He reaffirmed his status as one of the top contenders in the division.

McGregor has been challenged by Chandler, who appears to be looking forward to the bout at welterweight.

He tweeted, "Riddle me that: Two welterweights were at the main event of #ufc268."

"But two lightweights created the card. 72 hours after #ufc268, one lightweight who started the card weighed more that all the others.

"Over 191lbs in 72 hours. #seeyouat170mcgregor."
