Recently, The Notorious claimed that his recovery is "well ahead of schedule".

McGregor has, however, refused to watch and sat idly by while he did a few light workouts in his protective boot.

On Thursday night, The Notorious visited his doctor at Los Angeles to assess his progress in his recovery. He claims that he is now three weeks ahead of schedule.

The Irishman stated that scan went well during an Instagram Live broadcast. Scan went very well.

"To be back riding the bike, before he said that I would be able to carry weight.

"I'm rocking (and well ahead of schedule. Let's keep going. It was great news. It was good news for the doctor's.

McGregor showed millions of his followers his leg, removing the protective boot, as he made his way towards his appointment. He said: "I think that this bone is back together to be honest.

"The ankle feels great. I have flip-flops on. I am out of the boot.

"I have the flip-flops on so that's a good sign. Bro, I'm still jacked.

It's not over. We are only warming up. Still fresh. It's still fresh. You still can't get me."

Although UFC's first simultaneous world champion at two weight is making progress, he refuses to get ahead of himself.

He stated, "I'm being cautious with it." I listen to the doctors.

"Everything else I can't physically accomplish, so I'm not pushing the envelope after what happened to Chris Weidman recently.

"It's in my back that I go into there and maybe they'll say, 'Oh! It's not connected again. This must be repeated.

"Look at what happened to Weidman. That's not the case for me. That's not my experience. I'm a bit nervous.

McGregor will be absent from the fight until July, at the earliest. However, UFC president Dana White anticipates that McGregor will resume full training in April.

Dubliner is a bit desperate to be back in the cage, but he admitted that he just had to keep it going day by day.

"I look forward to it. "You know what, I'm listening to all these foolish people talk.

"You may be familiar with Kelvin Gastelum, a little former middleweight who is 5'9" and has a reach of 71".

"I am actually more physically fit than Kelvin, and he is fighting at middleweight."

"I will just keep going higher. I don't know my current weight. I don't know what weight I am now.

"But I'll just see what I look like on the scales, and then I'll go from there. Every day.
