CONOR MCGREGOR believes that he would prefer to 'choose prison' over facing Islam Makhachev, a rising lightweight contender, Ali Abdelaziz claims.
Makhachev is close to mixing it with the top-three of the lightweight division, which he will gatecrash if Dan Hooker wins at UFC 267 next year.
Islam Makhachev is rising up the lightweight ranks
A match-up between Makhachev and McGregor is possible, especially considering McGregor's history with Khabib Nurmagomedov, his training partner and good friend.
Manager Abdelaziz believes that The Notorious will not want to have anything to do the Russian wrecking engine.
The Dominance MMA chief stated to MMA Junkie that all of these men would be fighting each other at the end.
"If Justin Gaethje wins he's going to fight for the title. If Conor McGregor would like to get one more a** from the Dagestani mafia we can give it.
"Listen, he's still speaking, he still insulted and assaulted people at the end of each day.
"Still going into jail, but listen, being in jail or being imprisoned with Islam Makhachev?" He would probably choose jail, I believe."
McGregor, 33 years old, is currently recuperating from the severe broken leg he sustained in his UFC 264 Trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.
In the final seconds of the first round, the Dubliner broke his left fibula and tibia.
The UFC's first simultaneous world champion at two weights is back in action and training for the gym.
SunSport was recently informed by Mystic Mac's manager that his recovery has been accelerated.
Audie Attar, chief of Paradigm Sports Management, told SunSport that he is ahead of schedule.
"We received our x-ray results back, but we also got our CT scan and ultrasound results.
"It's so healing to see the x-rays from my own perspective.
"He is walking now after only 10 and-a-half weeks of surgery.
"And he's doing s**t we don't want him do, like throwing the first pitch at the Cubs Game."
He said, "All jokes aside, he's in a good place." He is in a good place.
Conor: "The only thing I tell him is that you've already earned your heritage." It doesn't matter what you prove to anyone.
"Financially, there is no reason to fight again in your entire life. Because we've built amazing businesses.'
He's an entrepreneur, and we continue to set precedent for all athletes. All athletes, not just MMA fighters.
He's so competitive, man. He says, "I don't think about the UFC."
"Whatever. "I'm not thinking of fighting. But I will get there.
"So, if the pitch was any indication of what might happen, God willing the healing process continues along a straight track, he's going to come out there to continue competing.
"Because the man wants to go on his terms. He won't accept the terms he was dealt in his last fight.
