Justin Gaethje says he will beat Michael Chandler "as violently and possible" when the pair clash at UFC 268

JUSTIN GAETHJE has committed to beating Michael Chandler as violently as possible in their pivotal lightweight matchdown.

Next month, UFC 268 in New York will host a thrilling 155lb matchup between fan favorites.

This will be Gaethje’s first fight since last October's failed attempt to unify the lightweight titles against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Highlight is aiming to regain title contention by stopping the three-time Bellator champion.

ESPN quoted him as saying, "There is only one common factor in all of these fights and that's me.

"So, it's what it is, and that's how it will be fought. It will be the same fight.

"I'm going to go out there and try to break this dude the fastest and most violently possible.

"Most violent man" and all that bullshit doesn't matter. I'm 22-3 with 19, knockouts. Which one of those dudes could say that? Which one of those dudes could say that they received nine bonuses in their first seven fights? Not one.

"I am the common denominator, and that is me." It's how I fight and why they pay me so much.

Chandler, a recent title challenger, is planning to go all out for leather right from the beginning.

Gaethje, however, doesn't see the Sanford MMA standout with him eating heavy shots.

He said, "Being a wrestler and being a competitor all his life, I think that he's going to come out firing shots.

"I believe it's going to be a great fight... Which will be fun, funfor the crowd and funfor me.

"Will he begin wrestling once I have landed big shots?" It's possible, but I'm not certain.

"But again, takedowns have been my life. If he doesn't want to waste energy there, that's okay.

"He won't be able block his face anymore when he stands up."

Gaethje, an ex-World Series of Fighting champion, is determined that the fight will not go the distance and predicts that Chandler or he will win the bout.

The Schmo heard from him that he loves fighting as much as I do. Styles create matchups, and this is a stylistic matchup.

"Someone's going to get knocked out. Unless he becomes a b***h, and attempts to make this into a wrestling match.

He's talking about timid people taking a step backwards. Because he doesn’t like power, he’s going to be a timid person. This is what I believe."
