McGregor gained weight after his fight in the lightweight division.

He is close to returning to the Octagon, and his manager Tim Simpson has stated that he will be competing again this year.

The 33-year-old Irishman is in excellent shape, as shown in photos taken by a fan at light (155lbs) or welterweight (170lbs).

McGregor quickly responded to the snaps with a quick tweet: "Young Tasty, Mr. Tasty Shots!"

The former champion at featherweight and lightweight has previously fought at welterweight.

After a 13 second victory over Jose Aldo, he made the jump to Nate Diaz's two-division in March 2016.

His last win in UFC was at welterweight, where he defeated Donald Cerrone in round one two years ago.

John Kavanagh, McGregor's coach, suggested that McGregor may not be returning to lightweight where he competed in his previous two bouts.

The SBG Ireland chief said during an Instagram Live: "You might remember some extreme photos of Conor years ago, when he was fighting in lower weight classes in UFC.

"They were extremely extreme and were all done under the supervision of a doctor.

"Even he wouldn't go back to those weights now.

It's not healthy and it doesn't work for the long-term.

"I encourage you to take a look at his most recent photos on Instagram.

"Look at how strong and big that looks. This is what it means to be a fighter. Get big, get strong and live a healthy life.
