McGregor, 33 years old, has been hard at work in the gym to prepare for a return of full combat training, which John Kavanagh believes will be on the horizon.
Fox Sports reported that he said: "The physical stage is complete now, you've seen the posts [online].
He said, "He enjoyed Christmas, but he's ready to go back to training.
"I am just happy to see him back in there. McGregor fight week is always a huge event.
It doesn't matter what you call it, as long as you can say it with excitement, the [Nate] Diaz Trilogy would be a fan favorite. Let's get him back to health, ready for competition and healthy.
He has won several belts and all the money.
"He has exceeded all of his targets. It's all about thrilling fights at this stage.
"So it doesn't matter if it's Alexander Volkanovski or Max Holloway, it's all about getting back into training and getting back on the podium."
McGregor, a former two-division champion, is looking to make a comeback in the UFC's summer fight. However, the UFC has not made any plans.
UFC chief Dana White told ESPN recently that Conor will not be returning this summer.
"How Conor's leg heals, and all the other possible events that could occur between now and summer will determine this.
"So...to speculate even is stupid. That is why I stopped doing it.
"Conor McGregor calls me, and says, "I'm ready for full bore and begin training a hundred percent," and then we start to talk about what Conor can do."
McGregor is currently on a 2-fight skid after consecutive losses to Poirier 2021.
The Dubliner was defeated by the former interim lightweight champion last January, before breaking his leg in their rubber match six month later.
