Canelo won super-middleweight supremacy in Las Vegas. However, Canelo was more than 2,500 miles from New York where the UFC held a rival pay-per-view.

Alvarez's fight did not clash with UFC 268’s headliner between Kamaru Usman, welterweight champion, and Colby Covington.

It did begin while Rose Namajunas (29), was fighting Weili Zang, 32.

It seems that UFC boss White, who began his career in boxing, and his coworkers enjoyed checking in with Canelo.

Later, the Mexican star, aged 31, defeated Plant, 29 in 11 rounds. He added the IBF title, to his already impressive collection that included the WBC and WBA titles.

Later, Usman, now 34, defeated Covington (33), in a rematch their December 2019 classic. This time, it was on points.

The welterweight king Usman recently spoke out about his desire to fight Canelo. This would bring together the best of boxing and MMA.

White however, while he was shocked by Alvarez's win over Plant, did not hesitate to reject the idea but welcomed him into the octagon.

He stated that he had seen the Canelo fight. He doesn't want Canelo to fight. He doesn't want Canelo to fight him.

"Come on man. Stop this s ***. Let's see if Canelo would like to come over. Canelo doesn't want to be boxed."

Conor McGregor (33), was allowed to fight Floyd Mayweather (44) in White. However, the Irishman lost round ten.

Recent losses to Jake Paul (24), and Ben Askren (37), ex-UFC fighters, Tyron Woodley (39), were both suffered by former UFC fighters.
