Holyfield's open training session on the pads has already made fans nervous.

American - also known as the "Real Deal" during his glory days - could barely throw a body shot and was painfully slow.

Bisping, a former UFC champ, was one of many to voice concern about Holyfield's return in the ring.

He tweeted: "Fighters are brave by nature, that's why managers and coaches are there to protect them."

"This fight should not be happening."

Holyfield is one of America's most famous fighters, having won titles at heavyweight and cruiserweight.

He hasn't been champion since 2001, and he retired in 2011 after defeating Brian Nielsen.

Last year, he announced his plans to make a comeback following the death of Mike Tyson (55).

Holyfield, who beat Tyson twice, the second being the rematch in which his ear was bit, is now in talks to create a trilogy.

However, negotiations were unable to be concluded and he continued training with the view that a new opponent was ahead.

Holyfield was able to replace Oscar De La Hoya (48), who had to quit fighting Belfort (44) with coronavirus.

After safety concerns, the California commission refused Holyfield a license and forced the fight to relocate to Florida.

He will now face Belfort in eight rounds. However, he did so in less than two minutes and not the usual three.
