FLOYD MAYWEATHER defeated a record 15 world champion boxers before he retired against Conor McGregor in 2017.
Mayweather, who was the UFC's most popular star, officially ended his career with a lucrative fight against McGregor.
He was able to retire at 50-0, and for the first time in 15 years, he faced an opponent who is not a world champion boxer.
He did it in January 2005, in an eight-round stoppage victory over Puerto Rican Henry Bruseles.
His 16 next fights were against former or current world champions.
He finished 2005 with wins over Arturo Gatti, his first time on pay per view, and Sharmba Mitchell. Sharmba Mitchell was the WBA light-welterweight champion.
He won the welterweight title by beating Carlos Baldomir and Zab Judah in the following year.
Mayweather was the new boxing's top attraction in 2007 when he defeated Oscar De La Hoya. Then he returned to knockout Ricky Hatton.
After a long layoff and a cameo in WWE, Juan Manuel Marquez, Mexico's unbeaten Mexican opponent, won his 2009 comeback bout.
Mayweather would only fight once every twelve months for the next three years. He beat Shane Mosley, Victor Ortiz, and then Miguel Cotto.
Following his victory over Cotto, which he claimed was his most difficult ever, he received a three-month sentence for domestic abuse.
Mayweather was greeted with a record deal with Showtime in the US, valued at around PS150million, when he came out.
He beat Robert Guerrero in 2013 and Canelo alvarez, a lightweight champion at the time. Alvarez is now boxing’s No1 pound-for–pound.
Miguel Cotto was Floyd Mayweather’s most difficult fight
In 2014, he fought Marcos Maidana twice. He won the first fight in a close encounter and eased the second.
The fight boxing fan's most longed-for rival Manny Pacquiao was finally agreed to in 2015.
Pacquiao was able to make a comfortable fight of Mayweather in 12 rounds. He also sold a Stateside record, 4.6 million PPVs.
He ended the year, and his career, with a routine victory over Andre Berto. This he said would be his last.
McGregor was a huge success in the UFC, and Mayweather took the title of the world's greatest prizefighter.
It resulted in a money-spinning cross-over bout in Las Vegas that Mayweather won in ten rounds.
Although it beat the winning streak of Rocky Marciano, it wasn't the last multimillionaire, affectionately called 'Money.
In Tokyo, Mayweather beat Tenshin Naukawa (Japan featherweight kickboxer) in round 1.
He was confronted by Logan Paul, a YouTuber, for a spectacle show.
Mayweather won TWO STONE, and technically there was no winner after he failed to score aKO.
Although the boxing legend has maintained that it was his last time in the ring, history has shown that he has made a great return.
