Francis Ngannou stated that he would have to quit UFC to train for three years to compete in the boxing ring with Tyson Fury.

FRANCIS NGANO would have to give up mixed martial arts to train only boxing for three years in order to be able to defeat Tyson Fury.

Last week, The Gypsy King shocked the UFC's heavyweight champion by calling him out on social media.

Fernand Lopez, Ngannou's former coach, believes that he would need to train for three years to be able compete with the Gypsy King.

Fernand Lopez, the Predator's former coach, said that he would need to be immersed in sweet science for the next three years if he wants to hang with the WBC heavyweight champion.

Chief of MMA Factory, Francis said that he believes he can cash in on the fight.

"There is also something for Tyson Fury. He doesn't care if it's not a competition fight. He just wants to make some money and make some media.

"Francis Ngannou would need at least three years to be competitive with Tyson Fury from a boxing perspective, and that includes three years dedicated solely to boxing.

He would have to stop all other activities and likely do nothing for three years except boxing. There is no grappling.

Ngannou, 34 years old, has had conditioning issues in the past. Lopez believes they would rear their heads in a fight against Fury.

He said, "The way his body and muscles have been built, it won't allow him to continue throwing punches after round three."

"I don't think Francis can ever match the endurance or stamina of Tyson Fury."

Lopez could only imagine Fury, a former lineal heavyweight champion, raising his hand if the shock bout comes to fruition.

He stated that he could only have a high defense, be elusive, do close footwork and change direction.

"But Tyson will eventually wear him down, get his body tired, then work the uppercut. Francis will soon give up due to the volume and pressure shots, and he'll just go down. He has an opportunity to win, but I don't see him winning the match.

"I don't know if it's worth it letting go of being a UFC fighter. I've had three years of consistent boxing training. How would you live your daily life? What would your income be?"

"And you might be competitive enough to keep going punches after three years."

Lopez believes Ngannou wouldn't be able to hang with Tyson Fury

Francis isn't a boxer, so we don't expect anything extraordinary. To be a boxer, you must train hard.

Boxing requires dedication and sacrifice. It takes years of training to be a good boxer. We know what will happen in that fight.

Lopez believes that his ex-student, who is believed to be out of contract at year's end, could earn a huge payday fighting Fury.

He stated that Francis Ngannou has only one chance to make a lot of money.

He cannot, objectively speaking, think of a career in boxing because his boxing skills will not suffice to make him a professional boxer.

"Francis Ngannou would like to switch to boxing, but that is only possible if he is the champ.

It won't look great if he leaves UFC and isn't the champion, regardless of which company he chooses to join. This is something we need to remember.

"A new contract that allows you to box is not something you can ask for.

"And you can't impose this upon the UFC now that you are a big-name fighter just because you want cash in – those are not the terms and conditions of the agreement."
