GEORGES ST-PIERRE said he was open to a switch to boxing after his UFC contract expired. This was after Dana White stopped his fight against Oscar De La Hoya.
White intervened and offered De La Hoya the role of his comeback opponent in UFC.
Dana White prevented Georges St-Pierre de la Hoya from facing Oscar De La Hoya
St-Pierre, 40 years old, is still under contract to the UFC despite not fighting since 2017. De La Hoya (48), now faces Vitor Belfort (44).
GSP said that he might consider lacing the gloves if his contract expires.
St-Pierre, 40 years old, said to Ariel Helwani, "I cheer for Vitor. Vitor is a good friend of mine.
"But if anything happens, and maybe Oscar wins or something like that, maybe Oscar will follow.
"We'll be watching. "We'll see. But I am not going anywhere.
"If I still have an interest in the idea when I turn 41 or 42, I might jump back in."
White, the UFC president, allowed Ben Askren to fight Jake Paul on April.
However, Askren was still tied to the UFC and was defeated in round one of the pay-per view fight with Triller.
White has clashed in the past with Triller and, more famously, with De La Hoya, a former six-weight boxing champion.
He was so disapproving of the Golden Boy that he refused to allow St-Pierre to fight him.
GSP explained that Dana didn't want it. I knew Oscar hated me, but I told him that I was going to make Oscar look bad, because I'm in great physical condition.
"I've been in great shape all the time, and I'm going for a full training camp with Freddie Roach (and his world champions), so I'll be well prepared.
"He said to me at first that he didn't want it because he believed that Oscar would destroy me in a boxing match.
"And I had good arguments with him -- I told Oscar that I believe Oscar has more miles than I do, he is no longer in his prime. I kept busy the entire time, I'm still very fit, I'm prepared, and I take this fight very seriously.
"If it's my name, my image is attached to the it -- I will do it 100%.
Dana said that I had told him, "If there was one MMA fighter who could go to boxing and look good, it would be me."
"And he initially refused. He thought about it, but then he decided to make a different argument. He said that it wasn't because Oscar won't win, but because Triller took me and made money while I was still under contract with UFC.
